- Before beginning any curriculum writing teachers must evaluate their student population and see if there would be a good fit for this model.

- Will the teachers surrounding you find ways to integrate your discipline into their classroom and how will you collaborate on the given topic?

- Once the kinks are worked out... the curriculum design can begin.

- A topic that can span across at least two subjects; it can usually be determined that you are able to integrate language arts into any of these curriculum designs.

- A central theme is important for cohesion of the lesson. It is important to understand that two subjects are not being taught at the same time but both subjects are valid parts of a whole idea being presented.

- An organizing center, concept wheel, and develop essential questions.

- The skills and assessments are integrated into the essential questions.

- Plan the lesson plans for daily activity with all of this in mind.
